The two Minis are ending their winter session
Ginto9 received the most intense refit program for the 2006 season
Tuesday 28 February 2006
Both mini have been lifted from the water bacj in November at the Chantier des Abers to escape from the taff conditions and prepare the 06 season that appears to be a quiet busy one.
Ginto9 received the most intense refit program with the adjustment of the keel length to be back in the jauge. The lead torpedo has been removed from the keel to remove the upper part. Thanks to the design of the torpedo, it has been possible to replace the removed lead at the space where the fixing screw are crossing the shape. Ginto 9 is now a “real” serial mini, soon a serial killer! Some minor modifications have been onto the rig of both Ginto to adjust the shape of the mast and make it better maneuverable in reaching conditions. Now the masts are installed, the next step is for Alfred and Erwan to participate to the ISAF safety training to be held on March, just before having their first sailing session in the second half of March. The 06 program is to be quiet intensive for the team with participation to most of the Atlantic races this year, starting with the Select 6.50 for the Ginto1. In Parralal Alfred will go for its 1000 miles qualifier, before the two minis meet in Douarnenez for both the Trophé MAP & the Mini Fastnet. Alfred will then sail the Azores race in August. A lot of fun and experiences to come! E.Abalain Other news
