Erwan, how was this race?
 Exhausting, really exhausting. Select 6.50 is known as being a difficult race for both skippers and minis, due to potential hard weather conditions. This year was difficult due to the lack of wind, which lead the skipper to avoid sleeping. Additionally, the fleet was very compact and at 20 miles from the arrival it was unknown who was to win it. The race has been decided close to Belle Ile, where most of the racers have decided to shorcut through the bay of La Trinité, whereas Thomas and myself have decided to round houat and hoedic by the south. This was the good choice, as we were enjoying a reaching south west wind when they were having a south east in the nose... On the finish line, the gap was nominal. Pierre Yves finished 100 meters ahead of me...

Anything special during the race?
 Yes, at Port Bourgenay, while rounding the mark I mishandled the pilot. This broke the connection between the ruder and the angle captor. I stopped close to the buoy for 40 minutes to do a quick repair which without the original part requested a certain level of creativity. The solution I found has been to use my toothbrush. Even this looks strange, this is well functionning!

So, pleased by the result?
 Yes very much. This ranking is satisfactory for several reasons. First the Ginto is now an official production boat, and it is nice to celebrate this with a podium. Second, all the developments and improvements we, at GintoLab,base have been doing with our partners on the Ginto appear to be very effective. In light and medium wind, Ginto is really a speed killer, even compared with the new Magnien design for the US market the Tam Tam.

What is your next race?
 Next race for the team is at Douarnenez at the end of May with the TMAP. This new race sounds very much apppealing, with an existing trip in the middle of rocks and strong tide.
